+soundkonverter for Debian
+-------------------------
+
+Due to patents problems, many decoders/encoders aren't available on Debian.
+
+At the moment you can find on Debian:
+ * cdda2wav (provides cdda2wav)
+ * cdparanoia (provides cdparanoia)
+ * faad (provides faad)
+ * ffmpeg (provides ffmpeg)
+ * flac (provides flac/metaflac)
+ * mp3gain (provides mp3gain)
+ * mplayer (provides mplayer)
+ * mppenc (provides mppenc)
+ * speex (provides speexenc/speexdec)
+ * timidity (provides timidity)
+ * vorbis-tools (provides oggdec/oggenc)
+ * vorbisgain (provides vorbisgain)
+ * wavpack (provide wvunpack/wavpack/wvgain)
+
+Note: you don't need all of the mentionned programs to use soundKonverter.

+To enable the soundkonverter-amarok script just launch soundKonverter once. It
+will create a soundKonverter directory in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts.
+The soundkonvert script will now appear in the script manager window of a newly
+started amarok.
